In My Blood It Runs – Panel Discussion

Join the UNAA Victoria Young Professionals for a special panel discussion of the award winning Australian film In My Blood It Runs.

In My Blood It Runs explores issues faced by Australian indigenous communities, including their fight to maintain their identity and language. The film invites us into the world of 10 year old Dujuan, from the Arrernte & Garrwa community in Alice Springs. Experience Dujuan’s life and his aims to grapple with the pressures of the society whilst trying to dream, imagine and hope for his future self.

Patrick Mercer – Patrick is currently working as an editor for IndigenousX and Research Assistant at the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health on a project strengthening suicide prevention networks in Indigenous communities, as well as mentoring and tutoring Indigenous students at the University of Melbourne.


Neerim Callope –
After working as the first Aboriginal Data Specialist in the Crime Statistics Agency, Neerim worked as a policy officer within the Department of Justice and Community Safety. Currently, Executive Officer of the West Metropolitan Regional Aboriginal Justice Advisory Committee (RAJAC), Neerim is working to implement the goals of the Aboriginal Justice Agreement at a regional level and build strategic, cross-department partnerships to leverage better justice outcomes for Aboriginal Victorians.
