About

Media Awards

The United Nations Association of Australia Media Awards was initiated as a national program in 1979. The Awards seek to promote understanding about humanitarian and social justice issues by recognising those in the media whose work champions and highlights human rights, stimulating public debate and changes in public and/or private policy. Through these Awards we hope to engage both media and public attention on issues of peace, social justice and the resolution of conflict.

The Awards are held each year in support of United Nations Day (October 24), which marks the entry into force in 1945 of the UN Charter.

Entries for the 2017 UNAA Media Awards will open early July 2017. Keep checking our website for updates.
